As director of a program developed by the U.S. Small Business Administration to help entrepreneurs find success in their businesses, my entrepreneurial center rose to top in the nation.

This simply meant we were helping thousands of business owners through counseling and training, to start, buy, manage and sell their businesses in record numbers.

Managing this program provided me with the opportunity to consult, learn from, and train over 1,000 small business owners each year. Through this process, I found that entrepreneurs were bombarded with business planning templates, text books, and training that were simply overwhelming.  The leading business plan template is over 30 pages long! While an Executive Business Plan (fewer than 10 pages) may be more appropriate for your business!

The Entrepreneurial Edge series of titles were created to cut through the noise and help you get your ideas on paper in a format you can take to the bank.

Tiffany McVeety, MBA has trained, coached, and counseled thousands of entrepreneurs to help them achieve their dreams.

Tiffany has been committed to professional and entrepreneurial development with an emphasis on women ever since 1994 when she wrote her first business plan for the organization Washington Works, that helps women get off welfare and into the workforce.

Since that time, Tiffany has continued to serve women and entrepreneurs in her role with the Forum for Women Entrepreneurs as both a board member and Interim Executive Director.  She was also an active volunteer with the Center for Women and Democracy, where she had the opportunity to meet and learn with Gloria Steinem.  She was also active with Seraph Capital, the all-woman angel investing group and the first of its kind in the United States, where she served on the investment committee.

While working with Seraph Capital, Tiffany was able to advocate for women entrepreneurs who would compete for a chance to present to the angel group for their attention – and a potential equity investment.

Later Tiffany became the third Director of a U.S. Small Business Administration program, the Northwest Women’s Business Center. During her tenure, she helped the Center grow and become nationally renowned for their service to women entrepreneurs, the Native American business community, and to Veterans seeking to become small business owners.

Today she is host of the BizLine Radio show, a business talk radio show that showcases entrepreneurs and their successes through talk radio and through the Internet (www.BizLineRadio.com).

Tiffany has developed and taught workshops and classes throughout the country for the U.S. Small Business Administration, the U.S. Small Business Development Centers, Women’s Business Centers, the U.S. Navy and at colleges, conferences, and Chambers of Commerce.
